Updates from DDA's local Chapters

In this brief: Toronto, National Capital Region (Ottawa), GTA West, Alberta

We celebrated the end of year with a Christmas themed Professional Development Day held at a local golf club. The 22 participants had opportunity for connection with other members during tabletop discussions and breaks around the three CEU presentations. Copyright and Image protection was addressed by Ariadni Athanassiadis, Metal Furniture history and fabrication by Cathy Klassen of Artage International and Trends from High Point Market by Linda Kafka. The day concluded with an inspirational painting workshop led by Artist, Cathy Klassen.

Here are just some of the participants showcasing their artistic accomplishments!

Alberta Chapter Picture

Greetings from the DDA Alberta Chapter. While 2019 is already in full swing we would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a very Happy New Year! In December the Alberta Chapter hosted an exciting Product knowledge event and Christmas party. CF Interiors graciously hosted the event and put on an amazing lunch. We had the pleasure of meeting Dana Mooney an established Canadian Artist from Vancouver. Her collection is now available in both Calgary and Vancouver CF Interiors. We also met with Christine. Christine is a rep for global views, studio A, Arteriors, and Jaipur. These are all incredible lines that are readily available to designers. To cap off a wonderful PK we had a chance to speak with Kathryn, the marketing manager from CF Interiors. Kathryn spoke about social media and how to use it wisely. She is incredibly knowledgeable with a lot of tips for marketing! Our next chapter meeting and product knowledge event will take place at Julian Tile on January 24. The executive committee is in the process of launching an Alberta Chapter instagram page. We would like use social media as a way to show case our members as well as our affiliates, and draw excitement for potential members. So keep a watch for @dda_alberta. Our chapter is steadily growing and we have been extremely pleased with the turn out at our monthly meetings.
